Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in San Francisco peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Adding Sea Forager to our weekly meal planning has made Wednesday nights a highlight of the week. I'm a great home cook, but having fish this fresh elevates me to feeling like a professional chef when I prepare it. Pick up is so easy and the portions are fantastic. Thanks to Kirk, Camilla and the Sea Forager team for the hard work you do to thrill our tastebuds!

Sea Forager's CSA is amazing; the fish and shellfish are fresher than anything I could find in any supermarket or fish market around the Bay. The seasonal variety ensured that we never got bored, tried new types of fish, and tried new recipes. Thanks to Sea Forager, we got to explore things like super fresh oysters that are cheaper and fresher than you could find elsewhere. Sea Forager helped us explore seafood and realize how much we truly loved it! They were also very receptive and responsive to questions and concerns, so I would rate their customer care highly as well! I would highly recommend them!

We absolutely love Sea Forager. First, this is the freshest fish you can get without a fishing pole. Sushi grade and always delicoius. Second, we love the Family of 4 Neptune Delight, we are usually surprise by what seafood we get so we can have Ahi, Salmon for Poke Bowls, or Halibut wtih Lemon or get Oysters for our White Wine. We love supporting local fisherman and small business owners and picking up our fish ON ICE from our neighbor's home. You are not just a customer but a part of a community. Join Sea Forager you won't regret it.

I just started a subscription with Sea Forager – Seafood and after my first delivery, I’m already completely sold. My first delivery last Friday and it couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Pickup was easy, well organized, and everything was well packed. Inside? A generous bag of Manila clams easily enough for three meals! On Sunday I made spaghetti alle vongole using squid ink pasta, and the clams were honestly some of the freshest I’ve ever cooked with. Clean, briny, sweet, and incredibly flavorful. You could taste the ocean in the best possible way. Yes, maybe writing a glowing review after only one delivery is tempting fate… but I doubt it. This service came highly recommended by a friend who’s been subscribing for quite a while, and now I understand why. The quality speaks for itself. I’ve already started recommending Sea Forager to others. If you care about fresh, sustainably sourced seafood and love the idea of a weekly surprise from the sea, this is a fantastic way to do it. Looking forward to next week’s catch!

I don’t even remember how many years I have been a SeaForager subscriber, but they have changed the way I eat and cook fish at home. I know whatever I get will be impeccably fresh and therefore super easy to prepare something tasty. Last night I picked up the clams I ordered and was feeling tired and overwhelmed. But I found some veg on it’s last legs and in my fridge and in 20 minutes had possibly the best clams I’ve ever had. The joy of SeaForager!
